We are a three-form entry school, which means we have three classes of 30 children in each year group.  Whilst the Local Authority School Admissions office manage applications for places at our school, Mr Byford (the Admissions Officer) is available to discuss how this process works and answer any questions you may have about Vaughan Primary School.  He can be contacted in the School Office by telephone (020 8427 7222) or via email (admissions@vaughan.harrow.sch.uk).

Admission to Vaughan Nursery (Nursery 2026 and in-year joiners)

We provide 15 hours of nursery care each week in either a Morning or an Afternoon class.  The morning sessions run from 8.40-11.40am and the afternoons run from 12.40-3.40pm and there are 26 children in each class.

Applications for an immediate start are managed directly by the school and all enquiries should be sent to Mr Byford, using the Admissions email address shown below.  We can accept children who will be old enough to start in the Reception Year the following September - this means that children born between September 2021 and August 2022 can join us this academic year.  At the moment, our Morning class is full, but we do have places available in our Afternoon class.  This page will be updated if that situation changes.

Applications for a Nursery place to start in September 2026 should be made using the Harrow Council 'Apply for a nursery school' webpage. The closing date for applications to be included in the first round of offers is 15 January 2026.

The school will be provided with the applicant details in March 2026, and we will offer places in either our Morning or Afternoon class in accordance with the selection criteria applied by the local authority, which are explained within the Primary School Guide 2026/27 linked at the bottom of this page.  Applications received after the 15 January 2026 will be included in subsequent offers, subject to the availability of places in one or both of the classes.

If you would like to know more about applying for a Nursery place, please contact Mr Byford by phone on 0208 427 7222 or by email to admissions@vaughan.harrow.sch.uk.

  • 8 & 9 January 2026

These tours are there to help parents with the tough decision of which school to chose to start their child's education journey.  They start at 9.00am and take in the whole school (Nursery, Infants & Juniors). They run for about one hour and conclude with a Q&A session with the senior teachers.  Places can be booked by following this link: Tours of Vaughan Primary School and scrolling through to find the date you need.  Please contact Mr Byford in the Admissions office if you have any questions about the tours, or the Reception application process.

PLEASE NOTE: parking for those attending the tours or visiting the school is only available for Blue Badge holders who have pre-booked a parking place.  This can be done by calling the School Office (020 8427 7222).

It is not possible to arrange bespoke tours, but we are happy to provide you with as much help and support as we can.  This can either be over the telephone, or arranging a meeting with Mr Byford in the School Office.

Deferring entry to Reception

Please see page 20 of the Primary School Guide 2026/27 (linked below) for information regarding deferring your child's start date.  The process is fully explained in that document.  Please be aware that applications to defer a start date must be made to the local authority by 15 January 2026.
